Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Dr. Monica, a licensed psychologist with specialized training in trauma, attachment, and emotional well-being across the lifespan. I earned my Ph.D. in Psychology from Tulane University and have additional training in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and Perinatal Mental Health. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, caregiver stress, and challenges related to pregnancy and postpartum adjustment. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is most effective when it is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each individual's needs. My approach integrates evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed interventions, while recognizing the impact of relationships, culture, and life experiences on well-being. Together, we will identify your strengths, explore barriers to change, and develop strategies to help you move toward your therapeutic goals. I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my goal is to understand what brings you to therapy and learn about your experiences, strengths, and goals. We will discuss any current challenges, relevant background information, and what you hope to gain from treatment. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. Together, we will begin developing a plan that feels meaningful and achievable for you.
