Hola! My name is Monica Garfias, I am a Bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor. Since 2010, I have specialized in working with people who have experienced trauma, battled symptoms of depression and anxiety, or have faced other mental health/emotional issues caused by life stressors. Sometimes we go through rough periods in our lifetime that create challenges for us. I am here to help you navigate through these challenges and illuminate your journey towards, hope, healing, and peace.

When engaging clients in therapy, I recognize that everyone has their own story to tell and their own challenges to conquer based on their individual life experiences. For these reasons I place a high importance on building a safe and trusting therapeutic environment . I am trained and use various treatment approaches that have been proven effective through research (EMDR, TF-CBT, CBT, PCIT, PCCARE)

What clients can expect from me is a well paced therapy experience in a warm environment. I listen to my client's ability and willingness to process the "hard stuff". We "go there" gradually so that I can help my client understand why they may be experiencing certain symptoms, how to manage them and how to find their path towards becoming a better version of themselves.
