Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) in the state of Texas (License #79882). I hold a Master of Science in Human Science from Prairie View A&M University. I also hold a PhD in Health Science from Texas Woman's University. My clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, and women across a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I also support parents and children in strengthening relationships and improving communication.

I create a collaborative, client-centered environment where individuals feel safe to explore their experiences and pursue their goals. My therapeutic approach integrates Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I am also skilled in Trauma Focused CBT. In 2025, I received training to practice Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education to remain current with best practices and ethical standards in the field of counseling.

My approach to therapy

Therapy is a collaborative process where you and your therapist work together as equals to pursue the goals you define. It's a structured process based on evidence-supported methods, and your progress depends on a strong therapeutic relationship built on mutual trust and respect. Please note that therapy is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts, are in crisis, or need immediate help, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

What you can expect from me

At the beginning of therapy, you’ll complete an intake process to help establish a foundation for care:

• Reviewing policies and procedures — including fees, scheduling, and cancellation policies

• Identifying emergency contacts and discussing your preferences for using health insurance

• Clarifying expectations — such as the type of therapy, length of treatment, and any potential risks or benefits

• Supervision (if applicable): If your therapist is receiving supervision, you’ll be informed of the supervisor’s name and role
