I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. I received a Master of Science in counseling from California State University, Los Angeles. My education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Child Development. Over the past eleven years, I have gained experience working with many children, adolescents, and teens. I help school-age populations with varying emotional and behavioral challenges and school-related difficulties.
Treatment methods are eclectic. However, the focus is on solution-focused brief therapy, CBT, Play Therapy foundations, Person-Centered, and Strength-based. I work with clients ages 13-23. I assist youth in navigating the academic and social expectations of school and home environments while discovering their social and emotional needs. I support young adults stepping into adult life and learning the ins and outs of college life while working through social and emotional needs.
In the first session, we will start with introductions and discussions of the limits to confidentiality and the expectations of therapy. Then, we will dive into the specific challenges the client is facing. We will discuss historical information regarding the symptoms, attempted interventions, family dynamics, school function, and social/emotional concerns. This will help create and tailor a treatment plan for the client in the following sessions.
