Monica Sanchez

Hi! I'm Monica Sanchez and I'm a neurodivergent licensed therapist based in South Florida. I have been working in with individuals in the mental health field since 2007. I studied social work due to my passion for not only helping people but also solving the systemic problems that can make life difficult. My niche and passion is working with other neurodivergent people in order to assist them in navigating a world built for neurotypicals. I am neurodivergent myself and had set out on an extensive and enthusiastic continuing education journey on neurodiversity and autism. Now, I'm thrilled I can focus on helping clients develop greater insight into what makes them great and improve their quality of life.

What I enjoy most about this work is helping people discover something about or within themselves, and I usually go about this by implementing an eclectic mix of therapeutic approaches like DBT, IFS and CBT with some neuroscience psychoeducation and a humble companion, humanistic, person-centered approach, particularly when facing challenges related to neurodivergence or navigating societal expectations.

In our first session, we can go at whatever pace you choose. We can talk about what brought you here, or we can leave that for the next session. We can talk about your life and what you'd like it to be like. I usually like to know if someone has been in therapy before or not. If they have, we can discuss what they liked and didn't like, to customize the journey to their liking. It's a great time to ask any questions you have as well.
