Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Monica Wacks, M.S., LMHC, RYT-200, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with teens ages 13 and older, adults, and couples. I help clients navigate anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, ADHD-related challenges, and life transitions.

I’m passionate about personal growth and helping people create meaningful, lasting change. My therapeutic style is warm, authentic, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy can be a space to better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may be holding you back, and develop new ways of navigating everyday life. My goal is to help clients step off autopilot, reconnect with what matters most, and build a life that feels more intentional and fulfilling.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and therapy is a partnership where we work together to understand your challenges, build on your strengths, and identify practical ways to move forward.

I integrate approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). These approaches help clients develop mindfulness, strengthen emotional resilience, recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns, and align their choices with their personal values.

I also emphasize self-awareness, actionable strategies, and sustainable habits that extend beyond the therapy room. My goal is to help you move beyond simply managing symptoms and begin creating patterns that support lasting growth, healthier relationships, and a greater sense of balance.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, explore what brings you to therapy, and begin identifying what you hope to gain from the process. We’ll discuss your current concerns, relevant life experiences, and the goals or changes that feel most important to you.

I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself and sharing at your own pace. You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. Together, we’ll start identifying your strengths, exploring patterns, and considering practical steps that align with your needs and goals.

Therapy is a process, and we’ll work together to find an approach that feels supportive, meaningful, and tailored to you.
