Great to meet you!

I wanted to become a psychotherapist since I was 9 years old, after reading an article written by a psychologist about fear. I got my BA in Psychology from Iona College and my master's from Yeshiva University. I began to provide psychotherapy after the aftermath of 9/11. I have provided psychotherapy at a hospital, schools, in-home, and at an outpatient clinic.

My approach to therapy

My approach is client-centered, and I want to know what has been helpful to you, your resources, beliefs, and what your goals are to tailor treatment for you. Some of the interventions I use are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, in which we will look at how your thoughts, behavior, and emotions affect your symptoms. I will provide you with psychoeducation and arm you with tools to reshape these. Another intervention I use is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), in which we discuss traumatic memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation. This approach is known for the treatment of PTSD, and there is evidence that it is effective in treating other psychological conditions such as anxiety and depression.

What you can expect from me

At our first session, I will introduce myself and ask you some questions to understand better how I can help you. The questions will be about the problem you are experiencing or what brought you to the appointment, as well as your history. I will gather information, but we will not delve too deeply into the details. I will explain to you what to expect at the follow-up appointment and answer any questions you might have.
