Great to meet you!

Monique’s journey to becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist began in 2008, after years of dedicated service as a special education teacher. Driven by a deep passion for helping others heal from life’s challenges, she transitioned fully into the field of therapy in 2015.

As the wife of a retired soldier and the mother of four incredible adult children, Monique understands the unique experiences and complexities of military life. From being a military child herself to raising a veteran and now serving as a military provider, she brings a wealth of personal and professional insight to her practice.

Monique’s approach to therapy is warm, down-to-earth, and engaging. She creates a safe, comforting space where clients feel truly heard and supported. Her love for the therapeutic process is evident in every session, as she guides individuals, couples, and families toward growth, healing, and resilience.

If you’re looking for a therapist who genuinely cares and is committed to your journey, Monique is here to help.

A bit about my approach to therapy

She believes:

  • Every person is the expert of their own life, though some may need guidance and external insight from an unbiased, nonjudgmental therapist.
  • When a person has the ability to author their own change, transformation becomes inevitable.
  • Every problem has a solution.
  • The true therapeutic process happens outside the therapy room when clients actively engage in the changes they discuss and realize during sessions.
  • Change is not easy, but it’s possible!

What you can expect from our first session

A client working with a therapist like Monique can expect to take away:

  1. Greater Self-Awareness – Clients will gain deeper insight into their emotions, behaviors, and thought patterns, helping them better understand themselves.
  2. Empowerment & Confidence – By recognizing that they are the author of their own change, clients will feel more in control of their healing journey.
  3. Practical Tools & Strategies – Sessions will provide actionable steps for navigating life’s challenges, improving relationships, and fostering personal growth.
  4. A Judgment-Free, Supportive Space – Clients will experience a safe, comforting environment where they can express themselves openly without fear of judgment.
  5. Real-Life Application of Therapy – Therapy extends beyond sessions; clients will be encouraged to actively apply what they’ve learned in their daily lives.
  6. A Sense of Hope & Possibility – While change isn’t easy, clients will leave with the belief that healing and growth are achievable with commitment and effort.
