Great to meet you!

I’m Monique Williams, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor. My practice is a space where you can show up as your full self without having to code-switch, have it all together, or carry everything alone.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationship challenges, addiction, and dual diagnosis, the experience of navigating mental health and substance use concerns together. Whether you’re overthinking, feeling disconnected, constantly on guard, or struggling with trust and boundaries, we’ll explore what’s behind those feelings and patterns.

Being strong doesn’t mean you don’t need support. I make room for how culture, family expectations, racism, and lived experiences can shape your mental health, while getting to know your individual story. You can expect compassion, honest conversations, and practical tools as we work toward healing, healthier relationships, and a life that feels more like you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. I bring warmth, honesty, and room for humor, while making space for the hard conversations. You’re the expert on your life; I bring clinical insight and tools to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing.

Together, we’ll explore how your experiences, relationships, thoughts, and behaviors connect. We’ll work on practical ways to manage anxiety and depression, navigate trauma and addiction, set boundaries, and build healthier relationships. I consider how culture, family, and the pressure to “be strong” may shape your story without making assumptions about who you are.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know you—what brought you to therapy, what’s been weighing on you, and what you’d like to change. You don’t need a rehearsed story or the perfect words. Come as you are.

We’ll talk about your experiences, current concerns, and what support looks like for you. I’ll explain how therapy works, confidentiality and its limits, and answer your questions. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable; you won’t be expected to share every painful detail on day one.

Together, we’ll begin setting goals and identifying next steps. It’s also your chance to get a feel for me and my approach. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, with a clearer sense of how we can work together.
