Great to meet you!

I work with people from a broad range of social, economic, and cultural backgrounds across a comparably broad range of issues ranging from anxiety and body dysmorphia to mourning, melancholia, and existential quandaries regarding work, intimacy, and sex. With a background in literature, music, and the arts, I think of therapy as an aesthetic practice that can be particularly helpful when it explores not only our conscious thoughts and problems but our unconscious ideas as well.

My approach to therapy

My aim is to create a space in which a full range of feelings and ideas—both conscious and not—can be expressed. By carefully attending to repeating life patterns as well as uniquely personal things like dreams and the kind(s) of language used in session, we're often able to discover new approaches to problems previously thought of as unsolvable.

What you can expect from me

Though challenging at times, therapy shouldn't feel like a yet another gig or task you've added to your already busy schedule. I'm of the mind that good therapy is often, though not always, therapy that is enjoyable—an opportunity to find surprise and humor where perhaps one thought there was mostly despair.
