Great to meet you!

I received my BA in Art at Illinois Wesleyan University and my master’s degree in art therapy from Illinois State University. I am a Licensed Counselor and Qualified Supervisor in Florida, with additional licenses in IL, NY, NJ, and SC. I am also a certified grief educator, a cancer survivor and a sober alcoholic in recovery. Over time with personal hardship and experience as well as professional training, I have been able to shape my deepest philosophy of finding creative ways to uplift people’s spirits, engage effective problem solving, and put ideas into action.

My approach to therapy

I specialize in substance abuse, depression, anxiety, stress, grief, pain and medical issues, relationship difficulties, and life changes, I tend to use a blend of Cognitive-Behavioral, Dialectical-Behavioral, person-centered, and solution-focused approaches. But I also integrate 12-step and various grief models into my practice.

I am very collaborative and enjoy developing relationships and connections. I want to know what brings you here, what are your strengths and how can we build on them!

What you can expect from me

You can expect authenticity and collaboration. I am "with" you! You can also expect hope and acceptance. I’m committed to working at my your pace and helping you move forward with love and compassion. I think that in the counseling relationship, we are all "fellow travelers," and perhaps I have some insight and ideas that can assist you on your journey, or we find new ones together!
