I have been practicing as a licensed professional counselor for over 5 years. My education includes an undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and a graduate degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. I have extensive and varied experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment problems, and other concerns. Family is very important to me and I spend my free time with my wife and kids. I like to cook, exercise, and play video games.
I begin by using client-centered principals to build a strong therapeutic alliance. I seek to help my clients better understand themselves so that we can develop a strategy to help them function more effectively in their lives. That strategy and that understanding will be facilitated with theories and techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoanalysis, family systems theory, and solution-focused therapy.
My client can expect to feel much more comfortable with therapy and feel that we are building a therapeutic alliance. The will begin to better understand themselves, the therapeutic process and have ideas about how to begin to address their concerns.
