Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 18 combined years of experience working in the mental health field - with the last 6 years working as a therapist in a residential treatment center. Of those 6 years, I’ve also been the Clinical Manager for 5 years - helping our Director directly supervise our team of social workers and therapists, as well as develop and implement the clinical services on campus. Leading up to my current position, I have had the privilege to work as a community mental health crisis worker for 7 years, and as a crisis service coordinator/crisis supervisor for a team that worked with people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual disabilities, and developmental disorders for 5 years.

I graduated in 2017 from Texas State University with my Master Degree in Social Work, with focuses in clinical practice and administrative leadership. Prior to this, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas Tech University in 2007.

I am EMDR-trained and have a passion for helping people work through previous life experiences and present cognitive processes that have a driving effect on our interactions and connections with ourselves and others.

My approach to therapy

My therapy style is warm, grounded, and validating—while also being clear, honest, and goal-focused. It balances compassion with accountability and helps people move forward without minimizing their experiences. I want to create a safe, trauma-informed space where people feel respected and understood.

From a CBT lens, I help people notice unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, then challenges them in a practical, non-judgmental way. The approach is direct but not harsh— people are encouraged to reality-check beliefs, experiment with new behaviors, and build insight into how thoughts, emotions, and actions interact.

DBT skills are woven in to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and effective communication, while also normalizing intense emotions and teaching concrete tools to cope with them, especially during moments of interpersonal conflict.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy adds a values-driven focus. Rather than trying to eliminate all discomfort, people learn to make room for difficult thoughts and feelings while committing to actions that align with what truly matters to them. My role would be to gently but directly redirects the person from avoidance toward purposeful living.

Family systems concepts are used to explore relational patterns, roles, and intergenerational dynamics. I aim to help people understand how their environment and relationships shape their responses, while still reinforcing personal agency and responsibility.

Additional rate applies:

EMDR helps people process traumatic memories by reducing emotional intensity and negative beliefs - the brain reprocesses distressing experiences so they feel less overwhelming, allowing individuals to heal, build resilience, and respond more adaptively in the present.

What you can expect from me

I believe in the human capacity to heal, grow, and transform. I hope to provide a supportive and empathetic space where people can process life’s hurts, rediscover their strengths, and move toward becoming their most authentic selves. Life’s experiences can leave lasting emotional imprints. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where people feel seen, heard, and valued exactly as they are. I strive to help people make sense of their experiences, reconnect with their inner strengths, and develop the tools needed to move forward with clarity and confidence.
