Great to meet you!

My name is Morolake (pronounced: mo-raw-lah-keh). Life transitions can cause anxiety. I understand the pressures faced while navigating social, cultural or financial systems outside of our frame of reference and how this can make us question our identity and competence. My work with immigrants, women & girls in dire situations, rape survivors, people living with HIV, and civilly confined individuals have shaped me into becoming an effective nonjudgmental therapist.

My approach to therapy

I am passionate about immigrant acculturation, life transitions, LGBTQIA, and women’s issues. As your therapist, I will hold up the mirror while you examine your image and echo back your words so you can see and hear yourself. I am not here to fix or help you; my role as your therapist is to support your desire for growth and change. I will provide a truthful, respectful, nonjudgmental, culturally appropriate stage for you to learn, understand and embody the person you want to become.

What you can expect from me

My undergraduate training in dramatic arts taught me that we all need some drama in our life while my favorite professor in graduate school taught me to focus on the trauma and not the drama. I embrace feminist therapy and seek to support my clients to take back their power as they examine, negotiate and own the multiple facets of their identities.

I look forward to supporting your mental health needs by identifying the trauma and eliminating the unhealthy drama.
