Munachim I. Uyanwune, M.D. also fondly known as 'Dr. U', is a board-certified psychiatric doctor with over a decade of experience in providing care. Dr. Uyanwune is the founder of MIU Center, an outpatient practice that offers behavioral health treatment to adults and children for a variety of diagnoses including depression, anxiety, post-partum blues and more.

Dr. Uyanwune bring an holistic approach to treatment. She takes time to listen to clients. She build treatment plans with clients and educates them about their symptoms and the various treatment approaches one can use, whether medication or non-med strategies. Also, MIU Center provides medication management and cutting edge treatment Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment for clients seeking out non-medication options.

Dr. Uyanwune brings a holistic approach in her treatment of behavioral health problems. She believes in wellness and reviews the client as a whole person, incorporating all aspects of an individual mentally, physically and psychologically. She believes "less is more" by striving to use medication only when needed and uses the minimal amount of it to fully treat and target symptoms.

In addition to medication management, MIU Center offers Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation as an option for treatment, especially for clients who have had side effects and other adverse reactions to medications.

Patients will learn more about their symptoms, diagnoses, and different approaches used in treating their symptoms. They can ask questions and leave with a fuller understanding of themselves, their treatment goals and the roles and actions of specific medications in this.
