My team helps clients move forward by supporting with developing attachments via strengthening relationships with identified supports. This involves enhancing caregiver/natural supports, relational skills, and resources to foster trust and secure connections, which are often disrupted by trauma. We address an individual's ability to manage emotions, physiological responses, and behaviors. Interventions target awareness of internal states, coping strategies, and external supports to help individuals achieve self-regulation. We also focus on developing essential life skills, including problem-solving, communication and identity.
The Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) framework is a flexible, component-based model designed for children and adolescents who have experienced complex trauma, as well as their caregiving systems. ARC integrates research from child development, attachment theory, traumatic stress, and resilience to guide interventions that promote healing.
I'll inquire about their personal experience, what lead them to therapy, what they will be seeking support with and what they would like to achieve prior to discharge.
