Great to meet you!

I am a licensed psychologist, who earned a PhD in Counseling Psychology and MS in Educational Psychology. In my studies I emphasized the role of race, ethnicity and culture within the context of mental health service delivery. I specialize in addressing cultural/racial trauma, depression, anxiety, marriage/couples and Black men and boys as well as Sport Psychology.

My approach to therapy

I have a particularized approach to mental health service delivery that is framed out within the context of Ubuntu Psychotherapy. This human centered, psycho-spiritual approach emphasizes the role of one feeling whole and connected within themselves and within their communities. I facilitate person growth through the 5 pillars of Remembering, Reminding, Reframing, Revitalization and Re-normalization in therapy.

What you can expect from me

My culturally-responsive mental health healing paradigm is aimed at facilitating inter and intra-personal connectedness through helping one:

1) Achieve Psych-spiritual Alignment,

2) Strive for Identity renormalization, and

3) Attain racial/cultural Self-Authentification (authentic identification). This sets the stage for my desired therapy outcomes for clients which are:

1) Increased self-love,

2) Enhanced self-understanding,

3) Greater self-efficacy,

4) Spiritual alignment,

5) Interpersonal normalization and

6) Racial /Cultural. Ethnic Self “Authentification.”

7) Ubuntu – feeling of connected to self and community
