Great to meet you!

I’m a licensed mental health counselor, trauma therapist, author, and advocate with more than 30 years of experience supporting individuals and families through healing, recovery, and life transitions. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, childhood abuse, relationship challenges, and emotional healing. I have extensive experience working with incarcerated individuals, juvenile offenders, and justice-involved populations, helping clients navigate trauma, behavioral challenges, emotional regulation, and personal growth. My approach is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and grounded in helping clients feel safe, seen, and empowered. I integrate evidence-based practices with mindfulness, emotional awareness, and practical coping strategies to help clients rebuild confidence, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. My goal is to help you move from survival to healing—one step at a time.

My approach to therapy

I believe healing begins when people feel safe, heard, and understood. I work collaboratively with clients to help them explore how past experiences may be impacting their present emotions, relationships, behaviors, and overall wellbeing.

I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, grounding techniques, and strength-based interventions. My goal is to help clients build emotional regulation, improve self-worth, process trauma safely, strengthen relationships, and develop healthier coping skills.

What you can expect from me

My goal is to get to know you as a person, understand what brings you to therapy, and begin identifying your strengths, challenges, and goals for treatment.

We may discuss your current concerns, personal history, relationships, emotional wellbeing, and any past experiences that may be impacting your life today. You do not have to share everything at once. Therapy is a process, and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable and emotionally safe for you.

I also use the first session to answer questions, explain my therapeutic approach, and collaborate with you on creating a plan that supports your healing, growth, and overall wellbeing. Whether you are seeking support for trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, or emotional stress, my goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered from the very beginning.
