Great to meet you!

My name is Dr. Myrlene (Meer-len) Jean-venant. I am licensed in Massachusetts and Connecticut. My work experience has focused on working with people who face diverse, challenging situations such as anxiety, depression, crisis, relationship problems, and trauma.

My approach to therapy

I believe changes occur when individuals have the opportunity to tell their stories. I utilize a strength-based approach because clients are the experts in their situations. I meet my clients where they are; they control their sessions. My areas of expertise include Black and Haitian populations, Christians, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

What you can expect from me

My clients often disclose that they feel listened to at the end of the first session. Building a positive therapeutic relationship is crucial in the treatment process to see positive outcomes. One of my clients tells me, “You're more than a best friend to me.” I want my clients to feel comfortable to tell stories. This is what therapy is for me.

Mwen kwè ke konstwi yon bon relasyon nan terapi enpòtan anpil nan dewoulman tretman pou jwenn bon rezilta.
