Hello,
My name is Myrna Flores, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) licensed in California. I provide telehealth therapy to make therapy more accessible and convenient to clients with busy schedules or that have transportation or mobility issues.
I have extensive experience in helping individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, childhood trauma, bipolar mood disorders, major life transitions, such as retirement and grieving loss. I use evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness strategies, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, Solution Focused approach, Narrative therapy, and Existential therapy, and Faith based therapy.
I have a passion for helping couples regain their love for each other. For couples therapy, I use Gottman Couples relationship principles (enhancing your love map, solve the solvable problems, create shared meaning, overcome gridlock) to help couples trust that they can resolve perpetual conflicts and recapture love again.
In family therapy, I believe that fostering respect for each other through communication of needs helps build confidence and hope for improved relationships.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and strengths based, focusing on nurturing open and honest communication.
The goal in therapy is to foster a trust within the therapeutic relationship so that the client can share their story without feeling judged. Together, the client and therapist identify goals for therapy and set realistic expectations. I believe instilling hope that change is possible, helps towards motivating the client to engage in the process.
