Great to meet you!

Nadia is a bilingual LCSW and earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Houston. Before engaging in clinical practice, they spent 14 years as a macro social worker with a primary focus on immigration and refugee services, developing deep expertise in systems-level advocacy and community-based support. They later returned to direct practice at DePelchin Children’s Center, where they supported children and families navigating complex emotional and relational needs within challenging systems.

Through their work, Nadia bridges clinical practice, systems-level insight, and a deep commitment to equity, centering relational healing, cultural humility, and strengths-based approaches in all aspects of care. Nadia works with youth and family systems. Her areas of expertise include neuroaffirming care, working with Autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD youth and families. Nadia also has extensive experience and expertise in working with anxiety and trauma.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be a space where you do not have to explain away who you are, mask parts of yourself, or fit into someone else's expectations of healing. My approach is collaborative, affirming, and grounded in the understanding that emotional distress does not occur in isolation—it is shaped by our relationships, identities, experiences, and the systems we navigate every day.

My practice is rooted in trauma-responsive, strengths-based, and relational approaches. I work from the belief that people are inherently resilient and that healing often begins when we feel genuinely seen, understood, and accepted. Together, we explore patterns, relationships, emotions, and experiences with curiosity rather than judgment, identifying both challenges and the strengths that have helped you survive and grow.

I strive to create an affirming environment for individuals across diverse cultural backgrounds, identities, relationship structures, sexual orientations, and gender expressions. My work is grounded in cultural humility, recognizing that clients are the experts on their own lived experiences. I approach each therapeutic relationship with openness, respect, and a commitment to ongoing learning.

Ultimately, I view therapy as a collaborative process of healing, self-discovery, and growth. Whether you are seeking support for a specific challenge or looking to better understand yourself, I aim to provide a space where all parts of your experience are welcome and where your strengths, values, and goals remain at the center of our work together.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and to explore what brings you to therapy. Together we will create a space where you feel welcomed, respected, and comfortable showing up as your authentic self—without judgment or pressure to share more than you are ready to.

During our first meeting, we'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, any current challenges or concerns, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I may ask questions about your personal history, relationships, cultural background, strengths, and important life experiences to better understand your unique perspective and the contexts that have shaped you.

I view therapy as a collaborative process, so we'll also talk about what has and hasn't been helpful for you in the past, any preferences you have for therapy, and how we can create a therapeutic relationship that feels supportive and meaningful. You are the expert on your own experience, and I see my role as a partner in helping you explore, heal, and grow.

Most importantly, the first session is not about having all the answers. It is about beginning to build a foundation of trust, understanding, and connection so that we can move forward together in a way that aligns with your goals, values, and needs.
