Great to meet you!

Nadia Phillips, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner providing compassionate, evidence-based care to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, ages 6-

99. She completed her graduate training in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, with major clinical rotations in a community outpatient mental health clinic and a children's psychiatric hospital. Nadia is currently a forensic mental health nurse and has experience in private practice and inpatient settings, giving her a broad understanding of how mental health challenges show up across different environments and stages of life.Nadia works with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance use disorders, ADHD, trauma and PTSD, eating disorders, gender identity concerns, grief and loss, personality disorders, family and relationship difficulties, and the effects of sexual abuse and sexual assault. She has a special passion for working with first responders, healthcare workers, justice-involved individuals, and school-based clients.

My approach to therapy

My approach combines CBT skills, a strong psychopharmacology focus, and culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care. Nadia's goal is for every client to feel safe, supported, understood, empowered, and respected. She values collaboration, compassion, cultural humility, empathy, and therapeutic communication, and she grounds her practice in current evidence-based standards.

What you can expect from me

At your first visit, you can expect a calm, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where you are invited to share your story in your own words. We will talk about what's been going on in your mood, anxiety, sleep, focus, substance use, relationships, and any past or recent stressors or trauma and how these may be affecting your life at home, work, or school. I will ask about your history and current symptoms so I can develop a clear understanding of the "big picture," and I'll share my initial impressions in plain language. Together, we will begin outlining a plan that may include psychotherapy, coping and CBT based strategies, and, when appropriate, medication options.

My goal for the first session is for you to leave feeling safe, heard, supported, and more hopeful, with a sense of direction and next steps rather than expecting a

"quick fix." Whether you are a child, teen, adult, older adult, first responder, healthcare worker, justice-involved, or navigating complex identity or relationship issues, you will be treated with compassion, cultural humility, collaboration, and respect.
