Great to meet you!

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in couples therapy and individual counseling. My approach centers on helping couples break out of destructive communication patterns and create space for growth. I work with clients navigating relationship challenges, grief, cross-cultural issues, and the stresses of daily life. As an Afghan American and mother, I bring personal and cultural insight to my practice, creating a compassionate, safe space for all clients to heal and thrive.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is rooted in a deep belief in the inherent worth and potential of every individual. I draw from a blend of client-centered, humanistic, and existential theories, which means that I focus on creating a safe, empathetic space where you can explore and express your thoughts and emotions freely. In our work together, I emphasize the importance of self-acceptance and self-compassion—believing that healing begins when we can embrace ourselves with kindness, even in the face of our struggles. I also weave in narrative therapy, which empowers you to rewrite the stories you tell yourself, reframing them in ways that align with your true desires and aspirations. Understanding that our past shapes who we are, I often incorporate psychodynamic techniques to explore how early experiences impact your present relationships and behaviors, offering insight into your emotional patterns. Cultural competence is at the heart of my practice. As an Afghan American, I understand the subtle and profound ways that culture, background, and identity shape our experiences, and I bring a sensitivity to human diversity that helps me connect with clients from all walks of life. Whether you're navigating grief, anxiety, relationship dynamics, or life transitions, my goal is to walk with you on your journey—honoring your unique experiences while helping you tap into your inner strength and resilience. I aim to guide you in creating lasting change, fostering a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment in your life.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to experience a therapeutic space that is warm, grounded, and deeply respectful of who they are. My intention is to create an environment where you feel seen, heard, and truly valued—no matter what you’re carrying. Together, we will work toward increased self-awareness, emotional clarity, and a stronger sense of self-compassion. You’ll begin to understand not only what you feel, but why—gaining insight into the patterns that shape your thoughts, behaviors, and relationships.

In our sessions, I aim to help you reconnect with your authentic voice and inner wisdom. Whether you're facing anxiety, grief, identity challenges, or relational struggles, I support you in moving toward a more empowered, connected version of yourself. Clients often leave with practical tools for navigating difficult emotions, improved communication skills, and a clearer sense of direction in their lives.

Ultimately, the goals we set together are not just about symptom relief—they’re about transformation. My hope is that through our work, you’ll build a deeper sense of self-trust, feel more grounded in your truth, and move through the world with greater ease, resilience, and purpose.
