Dr. Najmun Riyaz

Dr. Najmun Riyaz, MD is a practicing psychiatrist based in southern New Jersey. She completed her residency at Saint Elizabeth’s medical center, Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA, and the University of Toledo, in Toledo, Ohio. She worked as an attending Psychiatrist at Rowan University and Jefferson Health. She also coaches women in the workforce. Runs a podcast and a social media awareness campaign called ' Zehen" for mental health in the conflict-ridden area of Kashmir.

" I strongly believe that no one knows your body as good as you. What may work for one cleint may not work for you. So my approach with you will be that of a partnership. Through headway, I only see a limited number of clients in a week, due to my other academic, and coaching/consulting obligations" .

"I will ensure that you feel heard. We will first get a detailed history. I will then go over the diagnosis, prognosis, and together we will come up with a treatment plan, that will help you in managing your illness to the best of your ability. Sometimes it does take us a couple of different sessions to come up with a proper diagnosis, and a proper treatment plan. I do use a lot of Motivational interviewing and some Life coaching skills when it comes to setting goals for your recovery"
