Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Nancy, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I bring more than 40 years of experience in the counseling field, with a background in adult, child, and adolescent mental health, as well as substance use treatment. Over the years, I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, behavioral concerns, family concerns, and substance use issues. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, respected, and understood while receiving the support and guidance needed to create meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

With over 29 years of experience, I have found my approach to therapy is warm, professional, individualized, and collaborative. I work to build a close therapeutic relationship where clients feel comfortable being honest about what they are experiencing. Because every person’s story, background, and needs are different, I use an eclectic counseling approach that allows me to draw from different therapeutic methods based on what will be most helpful for you. In session, we may explore patterns contributing to anxiety, depression, trauma responses, substance use, relationship stress, family conflict, or life transitions while building coping skills, emotional awareness, healthier communication, and practical tools for daily life. I believe therapy is most effective when it is supportive, respectful, and tailored to the whole person.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my goal is to get to know you, understand what brought you to counseling, and begin creating a foundation of trust. We will talk about your background, current concerns, strengths, and what you would most like to change or improve. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, family concerns, stress, behavioral challenges, or a major life transition, I will work to understand your needs and help clarify your goals for therapy. My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and more confident about the direction of our work together.
