Great to meet you!

I've been a clinical psychologist in private practice since 1990 — which means I've sat with a wide range of human difficulty, and very little surprises me. My background includes formal training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), extensive work with Veterans and PTSD, and years in forensic and institutional settings that shaped my understanding of how trauma gets lodged in people over time. I also offer faith-based mental health care for clients who want their spiritual life to be part of therapy, not set aside at the door. I am a direct, warm, and experienced clinician — not a trendy one. If you've had trouble finding a therapist who can handle complexity, you may find what you're looking for here.

My approach to therapy

My approach draws primarily on cognitive and behavioral foundations, including DBT skills for managing overwhelming emotions. I adapt to the person in front of me — not a one-size protocol. I'm trained to work with trauma, significant mood and personality concerns, grief, and identity struggles. For clients whose faith is central to who they are, I bring a genuine respect for that dimension and can integrate it into our work when it's helpful. I believe therapy should feel honest, not polished. I'll tell you what I actually think, and I'll work alongside you rather than at you.

What you can expect from me

Expect a real conversation. I'll ask about what's brought you here, what you've tried before, and what you're hoping for — not from a clipboard, but from genuine curiosity. I'll also be honest about what I can offer and what might not be the right fit. The first session is not a test — it's a chance for both of us to decide if working together makes sense. Come as you are.
