Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Nancy! Thanks for visiting my profile. I work with adolescents and adults ages 14 and up. I also love working with families and helping parents strengthen their communication and connection with their kids.

I enjoy supporting people through depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, grief and loss, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and relationship or parent-child struggles. Many of the people I meet feel overwhelmed or misunderstood. Maybe you're a parent who feels stretched thin, a teen who feels unheard, or an adult carrying a loss you haven't had space to talk about. Wherever you are, I'd love to help you feel more steady and more like yourself.

I'm empathetic and collaborative, and I want you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable. You should be able to show up as your full, authentic self without judgment or shame.

On a personal note, I'm bilingual in English and Haitian Creole. Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends, being creative, going to the gym, and finding reasons to laugh and enjoy the little things. I really do enjoy connecting with people, and I hope that comes through in our sessions.

My approach to therapy

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, person-centered, humanistic, and Gestalt approaches. In plain language:

  • CBT and Trauma-Focused CBT: We look at how your thoughts, feelings, and actions connect, and build practical tools to ease anxiety and work through hard experiences at a safe pace.
  • Person-centered and humanistic: You are the expert on your own life. I listen without judging and build on the strengths you already have.
  • Gestalt: We pay attention to what's happening for you right now, in your thoughts, emotions, body, and relationships, so you feel more aware and less stuck.

I like to bring in practical coping strategies, reflection, and interactive activities when they fit. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling supported and with something you can take home and use in real life. Therapy should be a safe place to be yourself, explore your experiences, and recognize your own strengths while working toward change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. I'll listen to your experiences, concerns, and goals, and you can share at your own pace. If you're a parent or bringing in a teen, we'll talk about what you'd like to be different at home.

We'll start to pick out what you'd like to work on and build a plan that feels realistic and meaningful. You don't need to have everything figured out before you walk in. The first step is simply getting to know you and how I can best support you.
