Great to meet you!

I chose to pursue a career devoted to helping people improve their well-being, navigate life’s challenges, and feel more confident in the choices they make. This passion led me to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California.

I earned my Master’s degree from Pacific Oaks College in 2013 and later completed a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Marital and Family Therapy at The Chicago School in 2021. To further expand my clinical expertise, I completed advanced coursework in counseling studies with an emphasis on alcohol and drug abuse through University of California, Los Angeles in 2020.

My work focuses on empowering clients to recognize their strengths, explore their potential, and create meaningful change in their lives. As a therapist, I strive to provide a space that is authentic, compassionate, and supportive. I bring both my professional training and my lived experience as a South American therapist into the therapeutic relationship, allowing me to connect with clients in a genuine and culturally responsive way.

Through years of clinical practice and personal growth, I have developed a collaborative, client-centered approach that honors each individual’s unique experiences and goals. Clients often share that my experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds helps them feel understood, respected, and supported. Together, we work to build a therapeutic relationship that is inclusive, meaningful, and grounded in trust.

My approach to therapy

Throughout my career, I have explored a variety of therapeutic approaches to determine what most effectively supports each client’s unique needs. One of the primary influences in my practice is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based treatment that helps individuals understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

CBT provides practical tools for identifying unhelpful thought patterns, developing healthier perspectives, and building effective coping strategies. By increasing awareness of these patterns and learning new ways to respond to challenges, clients can improve their emotional well-being and navigate life’s difficulties with greater confidence.

Through my experience, I have found that integrating CBT techniques can help individuals strengthen resilience, enhance problem-solving skills, and manage everyday stress in healthier and more productive ways. My goal is to equip clients with practical skills they can continue to use long after therapy ends.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect our initial sessions to focus on understanding their goals, current concerns, and the challenges that have brought them to therapy. We may also explore relevant aspects of their personal history to gain a deeper understanding of their experiences and the factors that have shaped their lives. The first few sessions often involve open and meaningful conversations that help establish a strong foundation for our work together.

Above all, clients can expect to be treated with respect, dignity, and compassion, regardless of their background, identity, or the challenges they are facing. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly. Unconditional positive regard, authenticity, and trust are at the heart of my therapeutic approach.

I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for meaningful growth and healing. Together, we will identify your strengths, explore your needs, and work toward the goals that are most important to you. My philosophy is grounded in a collaborative, client-centered approach that empowers individuals to discover new perspectives, develop effective coping strategies, and create lasting change. Throughout treatment and beyond, I am committed to supporting clients as they build on their strengths and work toward reaching their fullest potential in ways that align with their unique values and goals.
