Great to meet you!
I’m Dr. Nesha Courtney, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in the complex intersections between physical and emotional health including anxiety, depression, chronic pain, brain injury. My approach is warm, practical, evidence‐based, and grounded in the belief that healing is possible at any stage of life.
For more than 20 years, I’ve supported individuals navigating mental health challenges, life transitions, workplace stress, disability, and recovery after injury. My background spans clinical psychotherapy, vocational rehabilitation, health psychology, and organizational psychology. This blend allows me to understand the whole person—your thoughts, emotions, body, environment, and lived experiences.
I work with adults who are ready to develop healthier coping skills, improve emotional regulation, heal from past experiences, and reconnect with their sense of strength and identity. I frequently help clients facing:
- Anxiety and depression
- Chronic pain and medical‐related stress
- Traumatic brain injury
- Trauma and PTSD
- Work‐related stress, burnout, or disability
As both a clinician and researcher, I integrate Choice Theory/Reality Therapy, mind‐body approaches, and practical skill‐building techniques such as relaxation training and progressive muscle relaxation. My therapeutic style is collaborative, compassionate, and firmly rooted in respect for your autonomy and lived experience.
I also bring deep experience in pain psychology, return‐to‐work, and the emotional impact of health challenges.
My goal is simple: To create a safe space where you feel understood, empowered, and supported as you move toward meaningful change.
If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
