Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor with a background that combines clinical mental health counseling, education, and school-based behavioral health. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Master of Science in Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, grief and loss, family disruption, anger, emotional-regulation difficulties, self-esteem concerns, and other life challenges. My experience also includes trauma-informed counseling, telehealth, psychoeducation, and helping clients develop healthier coping, problem-solving, mindfulness, and interpersonal skills.

I believe counseling should provide a professional, comfortable, safe, and encouraging environment where clients feel heard, respected, and supported as they work toward meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, person-centered, trauma-informed, and practical. I believe every client brings a unique combination of experiences, strengths, challenges, values, and goals into therapy, so treatment should never feel like a one-size-fits-all process.

I work with clients to better understand the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and circumstances affecting their well-being while developing practical strategies for coping and growth. Depending on the client’s needs, our work may incorporate mindfulness, emotional-regulation skills, problem-solving, psychoeducation, self-reflection, and developmentally appropriate evidence-based interventions. Her résumé specifically documents person-centered counseling, trauma-informed interventions, mindfulness, coping skills, and evidence-based treatment.

Most importantly, I strive to create a therapeutic relationship in which clients feel safe enough to be authentic, explore difficult experiences, recognize their strengths, and move toward the changes they want to make.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another in a comfortable, respectful, and judgment-free environment.

We will talk about what brought you to therapy, the concerns you would like help addressing, how those concerns are affecting your life, and what you hope will be different as a result of counseling. I will also begin learning about your background, strengths, relationships, experiences, and other factors that may be important to understand your needs.

There is no expectation that you have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Part of our first session is identifying priorities together and beginning to develop realistic treatment goals and a plan that feels appropriate for you. Nardina’s clinical background includes conducting assessments, monitoring emotional and behavioral functioning, developing treatment plans, and creating a safe and encouraging counseling environment.

My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and clearer about what our work together can look like.
