Great to meet you!

I'm a bilingual (English/Spanish) LCSW based in Queens, NY, and I work with teens and adults who are navigating trauma, domestic violence recovery, depression, anxiety, and major life transitions. Before private practice, I spent six years working inside the New York City public health system - most recently providing therapy to survivors of domestic violence as they rebuilt their lives after leaving dangerous situations. As a bilingual, multicultural therapist, I understand what it's like to move between languages, cultures, and expectations. I know firsthand what it's like to hold more than one world at once — and I bring that understanding into every session. I work with many clients for whom finding a Spanish-speaking therapist felt impossible before. I take insurance because I believe quality mental health care shouldn't depend on how much you earn. I see clients ages 10 and up. I offer all sessions online, so you can access support from anywhere in New York state.

My approach to therapy

I work relationally - which means I'm not handing you a workbook and watching the clock. I'm listening closely, following your pace, and building the kind of trust that makes the harder conversations actually possible. My background is in trauma-informed care, which shapes how I show up in every session: I understand that the nervous system has a long memory, and that healing isn't linear. I pull from CBT, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based approaches, but I fit the tools to the person - not the other way around. I find the most meaning in helping clients build tools to move through what they're carrying, and helping them see their own strengths along the way. I especially enjoy working with clients who are ready to set goals and move toward them — I'll meet you where you are, but I'll also help you keep going. I feel a particular pull toward working with people from a range of cultures, backgrounds, and identities, because I know how hard it can be to find support that actually understands you.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation, not an intake form read back to you. I'll ask you about what's been happening, what brought you here now, and what you're hoping your life looks like a few months from now. You don't need to have your story perfectly organized - we'll make sense of it together. I'll also tell you a bit about how I work and what sessions typically feel like, so nothing catches you off guard. If you want to do the session in Spanish, we can - just let me know in advance so I can make sure all your documentation is set up that way too. The goal of the first session is simple: you leave knowing this is a safe place to come back to.
