Great to meet you!

Your mind can be loud even when everything looks fine from the outside. You may be replaying conversations because of anxiety, struggling to keep up with an ADHD brain, feeling disconnected from yourself during depression, or noticing that food and eating have begun taking up more emotional space than you want. You deserve somewhere you can talk about what is really happening without feeling judged or expected to have it all figured out. I provide virtual individual therapy for adolescents and adults throughout Illinois, with a focus on anxiety, ADHD, depression, and eating disorders. I also support clients navigating relationship and family concerns, stress, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD, women’s issues, identity exploration, and LGBTQIA+ or transgender experiences when those concerns are part of the bigger picture. My goal is to offer a warm, affirming space where you can understand yourself more clearly, reconnect with your strengths, and begin feeling more comfortable in your own life.

My approach to therapy

I don’t believe therapy should be about telling you what you “should” think, feel, or do. I want us to get curious about what you’re experiencing, where certain patterns may have come from, and what could help you respond to yourself with more awareness and choice. Anxiety, ADHD, depression, or eating concerns may initially bring you to therapy, while relationships, identity, trauma, grief, family experiences, or ongoing stress can add important context to why those struggles feel so difficult. We’ll explore those connections without reducing you to a diagnosis. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to identify thought and behavior patterns that are keeping you stuck, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy to help you notice difficult thoughts without automatically getting pulled into them, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you make room for uncomfortable emotions while staying connected to what matters to you. I may also draw from Narrative Therapy to explore the stories you carry about yourself, Attachment-Based approaches to better understand relationship patterns, Motivational Interviewing when change feels complicated, and Strength-Based and Humanistic approaches that keep your existing resilience at the center of our work.

What you can expect from me

You don’t need to come into therapy knowing exactly what’s wrong or how to explain it. We can start with what life feels like for you right now. During our first few sessions, we’ll talk about what brought you in, what has been weighing on you, what you’ve already tried, and what you hope could feel different. Together, we’ll create goals that reflect what you want from therapy and decide where it makes sense to begin. You can expect me to be warm, open-minded, and affirming while creating room for honest conversations, curiosity, and growth at a pace that feels manageable. Progress might mean spending less time caught in anxious thoughts, understanding your ADHD with greater self-compassion, reconnecting with yourself during depression, developing a healthier relationship with eating, processing difficult experiences, strengthening relationships, or feeling more secure in your identity. My hope is that therapy helps you spend less energy fighting yourself and more energy building a life that feels like your own.
