Great to meet you!

I have been doing this work for over 22 years, and still find it meaningful every single day. I help people navigate depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, substance abuse, anger and impulse challenges, bipolar disorder, relationship struggles, family stress and women as well as men issues. Whatever brings you in, my goal is for you to feel understood and not judged.

Outside of the office, I recharge by getting outdoors. I love camping, running, staying active and traveling to new places. When at home, I love restoring old furniture and working outside.

I share these things because I want you to know I am a real person who values connections, rest, and things that make life full.

Faith and spirituality are a big part of who I am. If that is something you would like to incorporate in our work together, I would be glad to. If not, that is completely fine too. I am here for you.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm and direct. I meet you where you are with honesty as I believe you deserve straight talk delivered with care. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Based Therapy, and Gottman Method for couples. For younger clients, I also use Play Therapy.

In plain terms, this means I tailor the work to you rather than forcing you into one method. Some people need practical tools and clear steps. Others need space to process emotions or heal from past trauma. Many need both. We will figure out what actually helps you move forward, and adjust as we go.

What you can expect from me

Expect in first sessions to get to know each other, because I want you to be comfortable. There is no pressure to have it all figured out or to share more than you are ready to. I will inquire about what brought you in and what you are hoping to change, a bit about your history, and will leave room for you to ask any questions of me.

By the end, my hope is that you leave feeling heard and a sense of where we are headed together. Starting therapy takes courage, which tells me something about you. I am here to make this space supportive and free of judgements from the very first conversation.
