The first session is a space to slow down, get to know one another, and begin building a foundation of trust. I aim to create a grounded, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you can share at your own pace without feeling pressure to have everything figured out. Our first meeting focuses on understanding what brings you to therapy, exploring current stressors, and getting a sense of your history, strengths, and goals.
You can expect a collaborative conversation rather than an interrogation. I believe therapy works best when it feels safe, respectful, and genuine, so the first session is also an opportunity to see if the fit feels right for you.
Together, we may begin identifying initial goals, such as improving communication, reducing anxiety or overwhelm, navigating life transitions, processing past experiences, or strengthening relationships. Goals do not have to be fully defined right away — they often become clearer over time.
My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and evidence-based, with attention to how life experiences, relationships, and the body’s stress responses all interact. Many clients leave the first session with a better understanding of where they are, what they need, and a sense of direction for the work ahead.
Above all, I strive to provide a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported as you begin the process.
