Great to meet you!

I am so glad you're here!

I've been a therapist for over 20 years, and one thing I've learned is that people rarely come to therapy because everything is going exactly as they would like. Sometimes life feels overwhelming. Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in patterns we don't understand. Sometimes we're trying to make sense of something that has happened to us. And sometimes we just know that something needs to change.

I've had the opportunity to work with people of all ages, with a particular focus on children and adolescents. I enjoy helping young people make sense of big emotions and develop skills that can help them feel more confident and in control of their lives. I also love working with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, life transitions, or just feeling stuck. You don't have to know exactly what you need when you reach out. You just have to be willing to take the first step. We can figure out the rest together.

My approach to therapy

My goal is to create a space where you can show up as you are, without judgement and without having to have all the "right" answers. I'm warm and down-to-earth. I like to use humor and collaboration. I believe therapy works best when we figure things out together. While I want therapy to feel safe and relaxed, I am also a strong believer in evidence-based approaches. I have been trained in ACT, CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, IFS, and have extensive DBT training.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, so my goal is to make your first session comfortable, welcoming, and pressure-free. We'll get to know each other, talk about what brought you to therapy, and explore what you hope will be different for yourself or your child. Together, we'll identify meaningful goals and begin making a plan that fits you and your needs. I strive to create a space where you can be honest, ask questions, laugh, cry, and be with yourself without judgment. You'll leave with a better sense of what therapy with me will look like, some initial direction, and a foundation for moving forward together.
