Great to meet you!

Welcome! No matter what circumstances brought you to seek help, you are further along in your journey to greater well-being today than you were yesterday simply because you are here. Congratulations on taking this vital step to live your best life!

My approach to therapy

I come from a biopsychosocial perspective, a theoretical framework that looks at the interconnection between biology, psychology, and socio-environmental factors and how they impact a person's well-being. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. My specialties include treating complex trauma, depression, and anxiety. The clients I work with often struggle with insomnia, stress, self-esteem, life transitions, regulating their moods, and focus/concentration. Most of my experience as a therapist has occurred in a community mental health setting serving low-income, vulnerable individuals. I am passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care to help you navigate the challenges you're facing and build the life you want.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we'll get to know each other and discuss what brought you to therapy. I'll ask questions about your background, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve in therapy. I'll also assess for safety concerns. The first session is your opportunity to ask me questions you need answered to decide whether or not we're a fit. My goal for that first session is for you to walk away feeling heard and hopeful about the work ahead.
