Great to meet you!

My name is Dr. Natalie Stamey. I have been a psychologist for over 20 years. I have worked in many settings including private practice, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, jails, and nursing homes. I accept everyone as they are right now and try to help them get to where they want to be. I do not judge and I am not critical. I support people through changes that will help them build a more fulfilling life for themselves.

My approach to therapy

I tend to be solution-focused and work from a cognitive-behavioral background. I work with both individuals and couples. Specialty areas include: depression, anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, anger, dementia, coping with illness, couples issues, lgbtq+, PTSD, adjustment disorders, legal issues, autism, psychosis, developmental disabilities, drug and alcohol addiction, personality disorders, ADHD, women’s issues, caregiver burnout, conversion disorder, intimacy issues and coping with health problems.

What you can expect from me

I create a warm and accepting environment to every person. No one has walked in your shoes and no one knows how it feels to be you. A first session would involve acceptance, understanding, kindness and learning about how you came to feel like therapy could help you. I will ask questions to learn about you and also provide you the space to say anything you need to say. Further sessions would involve collaborating with you to determine your goals so we can work on them as a team.
