Great to meet you!

Thanks so much for your interest in working together via HIPPA compliant virtual video support helping you to develop helpful coping skills to navigate complex world times in a therapeutic space that is affirming of clients from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and individuals who experience challenges with daily life for a number of reasons, including men's issues, ADHD, anxiety, difficulties with world changes and vicarious trauma experiences in Higher Education, challenges experienced by artists and those working in non-profits, as well as individuals wanting to move toward a more secure attachment style in daily life.

My approach to therapy

With my background in university/college counseling, and as a previous Counseling Center Director, in several universities throughout the country, counseling support is developmental, incorporating in a range of tailored to you empirically supported interventions through a culturally sensitive treatment lens. Many of my clients, range in age from mid-20s to early 50s, and often seek longer-term counseling support, where we begin with current goals and expand to address deeper levels of healing over the course of time. Session frequency and when we pivot to less frequent meetings is always tailored to a specific client. Similar to having a helpful primary care physician, it's great to have an established psychologist where you aren't "starting over" each time a concern comes up and it's possible to explore the concern from the lens of the context of now- in relation to where you have been previously and where you hope to be in the future

What you can expect from me

After a 15 minute complimentary phone consult, where we can explore fit, each session after intake begins with the Session Check-in Form- it's a map to guide us on your goals for the day, areas of progress, symptoms of distress, and more- each session is tailored to where you are that day and current needs, cultivating greater coping skills, understanding helpful interventions, and growing in your relationship with yourself and others, as challenging emotions, like shame and anger, subside.
