Great to meet you!

Do you feel like you’re constantly "performing" for the world while feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck behind a mask of ADHD and anxiety? I’m Nathan Choi, and I help adults and teens navigate the heavy fog of depression and the frantic pace of modern life to find a sense of true belonging.

My journey began at UC Berkeley, where I studied Cognitive Science to understand how our minds work. But I realized that knowing the "why" isn't enough—we need the "how" of healing. After earning my Master’s in Social Work from CSU Long Beach, I dedicated my practice to a person-centered, Rogers-inspired approach. This means I don’t just see a diagnosis; I see you.

As a Korean-American therapist, I am deeply committed to providing culturally responsive care. Whether we are speaking English or Korean, my goal is to create a space where you don’t have to explain your culture—you just have to be yourself. Together, we’ll move past "getting by" and start moving toward a life that feels authentic, grounded, and yours.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is where scientific insight meets human connection. With a foundation in Cognitive Science from UC Berkeley, I understand how the brain navigates ADHD, anxiety, and stress—but I also know that data alone doesn't heal. Healing requires a safe, person-centered environment where you feel truly seen.

I won’t tell you who to be or how to act. Instead, I act as a reflective partner, helping you shine a light on the patterns that leave you feeling overwhelmed. By fostering a deep sense of self-understanding and acceptance, we create the 'psychological oxygen' needed for growth. In our sessions, you aren't just a set of symptoms; you are a person whose authentic growth emerges naturally once the barriers of judgment are removed.

What you can expect from me

Think of our first session as a collaborative 'looking-in.' There are no wrong answers and no expectations for you to have everything figured out. We’ll spend our time beginning to untangle the threads of what feels stuck or difficult in your life. I’ll listen with a 'Cognitive Science' lens to understand how your mind works, and a 'Social Work' heart to understand how your world feels.

Through thoughtful, gentle inquiry, we’ll start to identify the patterns that are ready for change. You’ll find that I’m not here to check boxes, but to truly witness your experience. We’re not just starting therapy; we’re starting a partnership built on authentic growth and mutual respect.
