Great to meet you!

I'm Nathan, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Colorado Springs — the same community I grew up in. I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and specialize in trauma and PTSD, addiction, and personality disorders. I work with adults individually, in couples, and in groups. I offer online sessions on evenings and weekends to make therapy accessible around your schedule. People have always felt comfortable opening up to me, and I bring genuine compassion to every session. As a Colorado Springs native, I also love the outdoors and find that connection to nature plays a role in the healing process.

My approach to therapy

I believe in healing the mind and body together. Our minds can get stuck in loops of negative thoughts — shame, fear, resentment — like weeds taking over a garden. My approach is to work with you to get to the root causes, examine them rationally, and build a personalized toolkit of coping strategies. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, EMDR, IFS, ACT, and trauma-focused approaches like CPT and Prolonged Exposure. You are the expert on your life — I act as a guide, a listener, and a collaborator to help you extract meaning and build on your strengths.

What you can expect from me

Starting counseling can feel like standing at the base of a 14er, but I'll be with you every step of the way. In our first session, I focus on listening and getting to know your story — what brought you in, what you're struggling with, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. There's no pressure to dive into the heavy stuff right away. My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where you feel comfortable being open. By the end of our first conversation, we'll start mapping out a path forward together, including initial goals and the approaches that might work best for you.
