Great to meet you!

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, mood swings, or other mental health challenges that are getting in the way of your daily life — and wondering if the right support could finally help?

I'm Nathan Porter, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over a decade of clinical experience, including 10 years at Mayo Clinic. I offer telehealth psychiatric care and medication management to patients across Arizona through Revive Psychiatry.

Before psychiatry, I spent years managing complex operations — and I brought that same practical, no-nonsense mindset to patient care. I left a high-volume practice because I believe you deserve more than 15 minutes and a checkbox. My approach is direct and collaborative: we figure out what's going on, talk through your options honestly, and build a plan that actually works for your life.

My approach to therapy

Psychiatry isn't one-size-fits-all — and I've never believed in prescribing on autopilot. My approach starts with listening. Before we talk about any treatment, I want to understand your full picture: your history, what you've already tried, what's working and what isn't, and what matters most to you.

Every recommendation I make is grounded in evidence, explained in plain language, and built around your goals — not a protocol.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is a telehealth psychiatric evaluation — conducted over video from wherever you are in Arizona. No commute, no waiting room.

We'll spend time getting to know each other. I'll ask about your history, your current concerns, and what you're hoping to get out of care. You'll have plenty of space to ask questions too — I want you to understand everything we talk about, not just take my word for it.

By the end of our first session, my goal is for you to feel genuinely heard and to leave with a clear picture of next steps. Whether we're starting medication, adjusting something you're already on, or just building a plan, we'll figure it out together.
