Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Nate.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, overthinking, ADHD, stress, and life transitions. Many of my clients are thoughtful and self aware. They often understand their struggles on an intellectual level but still feel stuck in the same patterns.

If you find yourself replaying conversations, analyzing decisions, or feeling mentally exhausted from constant thinking, you are not alone. Therapy can help you move from understanding your patterns to actually changing how you relate to them.

I have over 16 years of experience as a counselor, with a PhD from the College of William and Mary and a Master’s degree from East Tennessee State University. My approach combines practical strategies with deeper exploration so that change feels both meaningful and sustainable.

My approach to therapy

My work is grounded in evidence based approaches, including:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for anxiety, stress, and overthinking
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for identifying and shifting unhelpful thought patterns
  • Attachment focused therapy for understanding relationship patterns
  • Narrative therapy for making sense of your experiences and identity

This approach allows us to look at both practical strategies and deeper patterns so that change is not just temporary, but lasting.

Who I Work With

I work with adults experiencing:

  • Anxiety and chronic overthinking
  • ADHD and difficulty with focus or motivation
  • Depression, low mood, or lack of direction
  • Stress and burnout
  • Life transitions and identity questions
  • Relationship challenges and communication difficulties
  • Religious trauma or major belief changes

Many of my clients are high functioning but feel internally stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected.

What you can expect from me

Therapy with me is collaborative, structured, and focused on real change.

We will:

  • Explore patterns in anxiety, stress, and overthinking
  • Understand how past experiences shape current thoughts and behaviors
  • Develop practical ways to respond differently in daily life
  • Build clarity, confidence, and direction

Many clients come in with strong insight but feel stuck. Our work focuses on helping you apply that insight in real time.

Over time, you may notice:

  • Less anxiety and mental overwhelm
  • Improved focus and follow through
  • Greater emotional clarity
  • More intentional decision making

A Note on Therapy

It is reasonable to wonder whether therapy will actually help.

We will talk openly about what meaningful progress looks like, what tends to create change, and how to evaluate whether the work is useful for you. Therapy should feel like a place where you can think clearly, not just feel temporarily reassured.
