Great to meet you!

Natividad Simmons| LCSW | Bilingual Psychotherapist

Welcome! I am a millennial therapist originally hailing from NYC and completed my education with Fordham University. I have over 10 years of experience working in areas like family therapy, immigration, child welfare, substance use, and crisis intervention. Whether you have been previously diagnosed with a mental health condition you are living with, or looking for a safe space to be supported and heard (or both) I am excited to serve on your healing journey.

My approach to therapy

I take a careful and discerning approach to therapy. I don't rush the process. I listen closely, ask meaningful questions, and work with you to understand not just what you are experiencing, but what you can do about it. Using evidenced- based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and narrative therapy I help you to build practical tools while also making space for deeper reflection and lasting change.

For clients who desire it, I am also comfortable integrating faith into our work in a way that feels respectful, ethical, and authentic. My own Catholic faith informs the way I see the dignity of each person, the importance of meaning, and the value of a well- examined life- but you will always set the pace and direction of if or how this is part of your therapy.

What you can expect from me

My style is warm but intentional. I aim to create a space that feels calm, steady, and quietly supportive- where you can think clearly, speak freely, and grow over time. During our first session you will be able to spend some time describing recent stressors and experiences, and identify goals and a timeframe for our work together. I will also share some practical logistics for communication and availability.
