Great to meet you!

You don't have to go through this alone.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you've been carrying the weight of anxiety, trauma, grief, or the expectation that you always have to be strong. Whether you're feeling stuck, emotionally exhausted, or simply ready for something to change, I'm here to provide a space where you can feel safe, understood, and supported.

I'm Naveta Barry, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and an EMDRIA-trained EMDR therapist serving adults throughout California via telehealth. I specialize in helping clients heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, life transitions, relationship stress, and low self-esteem using EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and other evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches.

My clients often tell me this is the first place they've felt they didn't have to pretend they were okay. I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or expectations. Together, we'll make sense of what's been weighing on you, discover healthier ways to cope, and help you move toward a life that feels more peaceful, confident, and fulfilling.

While I welcome adults from all backgrounds, I have a special passion for supporting Black women and other women who are ready to heal from trauma, reclaim their peace, and prioritize themselves without guilt. If you're constantly putting everyone else's needs first, therapy can become the one place that's just for you.

Healing doesn't mean forgetting your past—it means learning that it no longer has to control your future. Wherever you are in your journey, we'll take the next step together, one session at a time.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is most effective when you feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs and goals. I strive to create a space where you can be yourself without fear of judgment while we work together to understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

I integrate evidence-based approaches including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care to help clients process difficult experiences, reduce emotional distress, and develop healthier ways of coping. Rather than simply managing symptoms, I focus on helping you build insight, resilience, and lasting change.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, burnout, or a major life transition, we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My goal is to help you leave each session feeling heard, supported, and equipped with practical tools to continue your healing outside of therapy.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment during their first session. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and emotionally safe while we begin building a strong therapeutic connection.

During the first session, we’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, the challenges you’re currently experiencing, your personal goals, and any important background information that may help guide treatment. I’ll also answer any questions you have about the therapy process and collaborate with you on what support may look like moving forward.

There is no pressure to share everything all at once. The first session is about creating a space where you can begin at your own pace while feeling supported and understood.
