Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Navvab Tadjvar, a licensed clinical psychologist in West Los Angeles. My background in psychology and philosophy shapes how I approach therapy, not just as a way to relieve symptoms, but as a process of exploring deeper patterns, uncovering meaning, and creating lasting change.

I help teens and adults work through challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and life transitions. In our work together, I provide a steady and thoughtful space to bring unconscious dynamics into awareness, so you can feel more grounded and connected in your everyday life.

My approach to therapy

As a psychoanalytic therapist in West Los Angeles, I believe our symptoms and struggles carry meaning. They are not simply obstacles to be removed, but messages from parts of ourselves that are waiting to be heard. In our sessions, I listen for what is spoken and, just as importantly, for what remains unsaid. My work is to help you explore your associations, dreams, and the feelings that arise within the therapeutic relationship itself.

What you can expect from me

In our first session I will first inquire about your presenting problem. I will then invite you to freely speak about this problem in whatever direction feels right. I will then help you see how the direction you naturally go in yields fruitful material about the challenges you're facing, and how we might use these associations to find a way towards something different together.
