Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience providing psychiatric care across outpatient, community, forensic, and developmental disability settings.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University and my Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Boston College. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing Science at University of Missouri–Kansas City, where my research focuses on improving mental health outcomes and access to care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

My clinical experience includes treating adults with depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, and co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions. I also have specialized experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and serious mental illness.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based. I believe that every person deserves to be heard, understood, and actively involved in their treatment. I utilize a combination of medication management, psychoeducation, and therapeutic approaches informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care. My goal is not only to reduce symptoms but also to help clients build meaningful, fulfilling lives aligned with their values.

Whether you are seeking support for a recent challenge or have been struggling for years, I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where healing, growth, and recovery can occur. I look forward to partnering with you on your mental health journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I believe that effective mental health treatment begins with understanding each person’s unique experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work closely with clients to develop treatment plans that are tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.

I specialize in treating adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, and co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns. I also have extensive experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and serious mental illness.

My treatment approach combines evidence-based medication management with education, supportive therapy, and practical skill-building. I draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, narrative therapy, and neurodiversity-affirming practices to help clients develop healthier coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, and build lives that feel meaningful and sustainable.

I view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership. My role is not only to prescribe medication when appropriate but also to listen carefully, provide guidance, answer questions, and empower clients to make informed decisions about their care. I strive to create a warm, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe discussing difficult experiences and working toward their goals.

Whether you are seeking support for a new challenge or managing a long-standing mental health condition, I am committed to helping you achieve greater stability, resilience, and overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your experiences at your own pace. I understand that reaching out for mental health treatment can feel overwhelming, and I aim to make the process as collaborative and approachable as possible.

The initial appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Together, we will identify your strengths, challenges, and treatment priorities. If medication is appropriate, we will discuss options, potential benefits, risks, and alternatives so that you can make informed decisions about your care. I also provide education about diagnoses, treatment approaches, and practical strategies that may support your overall well-being.

By the end of the first session, clients can expect to have a clearer understanding of their symptoms, a preliminary treatment plan, and specific next steps. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, respected, and hopeful about the path forward. I view treatment as a partnership, and I am committed to working alongside you to help you achieve meaningful and lasting improvements in your mental health and quality of life.
