Great to meet you!

I believe that therapy is not simply about talking through life's challenges; it is about gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, recognizing patterns that may be holding you back, and developing the tools to create meaningful, lasting change.

With over 20 years of clinical experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring a compassionate, thoughtful, and direct approach to my work. I have had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families navigating relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and complex emotional challenges.

My approach is collaborative, culturally sensitive, and tailored to each client's unique experiences and needs. I believe in creating a safe, confidential, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported, while also being encouraged to challenge unhelpful patterns and explore new perspectives.

I am not a therapist who simply listens and nods. I believe meaningful therapy involves honest conversations, thoughtful reflection, practical strategies, and sometimes asking the difficult questions that lead to personal growth.

Above all, I want my clients to know that they do not have to navigate life's challenges alone. Whether you are struggling with your relationship, feeling emotionally overwhelmed, or simply seeking a greater sense of clarity and fulfillment, my goal is to help you move forward with greater confidence, emotional awareness, and resilience.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and insight-oriented, while also being practical and solution-focused. I believe that meaningful change begins with understanding not only what we are experiencing, but why we think, feel, and respond the way we do. I tailor my therapeutic approach to each client's unique needs, drawing from evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family systems theory, attachment-based approaches, and emotionally focused interventions. I believe therapy should be more than a space to express frustrations. It should be an opportunity to challenge long-standing patterns, develop emotional awareness, strengthen communication, establish healthy boundaries, and build the skills necessary for lasting change.

My style is warm, engaged, and direct. I listen with empathy, but I also ask meaningful questions, offer honest perspectives, and gently challenge beliefs and behaviors that may be preventing growth. I work with clients to explore how past experiences, family dynamics, cultural influences, and attachment patterns shape their present relationships and emotional well-being.

Ultimately, my goal is not to tell clients how to live their lives, but to empower them to better understand themselves, make intentional choices, and navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, resilience, and emotional balance. I believe therapy is most effective when insight leads to action and personal growth translates into meaningful changes in everyday life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, explore what has brought you to therapy, and begin identifying what you hope to achieve. I understand that taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when discussing personal experiences, difficult emotions, or relationship challenges.

My priority is to create a warm, welcoming, confidential, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your story at your own pace. I will ask thoughtful questions to better understand your concerns, personal history, relationships, and the patterns that may be contributing to your current difficulties.

I take an active and collaborative approach from the very beginning. Rather than simply gathering information, I aim to help you begin making connections, gaining new perspectives, and identifying areas where meaningful change is possible. We will also discuss your goals and what a productive therapeutic experience might look like for you.

There is no expectation that you share everything in our first meeting or have all the answers. Therapy is a process, and building trust is an important part of that journey.

My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and supported, with a greater sense of clarity about the challenges you are facing and how we can work together to address them. Above all, I want you to feel that therapy is a partnership in which you are not only supported but also empowered to grow, heal, and create lasting change.
