Great to meet you!

I'm Nechola Hodge, a mental health professional with a Master of Social Work degree and clinical experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life's challenges. My practice is rooted in compassion, empathy, and culturally responsive care. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, behavioral concerns, low self-esteem, trauma, and life transitions.

I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based techniques, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-focused care to help clients develop healthy coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and build emotional resilience.

My professional and personal experiences have deepened my understanding of family dynamics, resilience, and the importance of meaningful human connection. I'm passionate about mental health advocacy, community involvement, and helping people recognize their strengths and potential. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel heard, respected, and empowered to achieve meaningful personal growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client's unique needs and experiences. I believe that everyone has strengths that can support healing and personal growth. By creating a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship, I help clients explore their emotions, understand challenging patterns, and develop practical strategies for managing life's difficulties.

I integrate evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, Emotion-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, person-centered therapy, psychodynamic techniques, solution-focused interventions, and strength-based, trauma-informed care. When appropriate, I also incorporate creative and play-based techniques to support emotional expression and engagement.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, behavioral challenges, stress, or difficult life transitions, I'll work alongside you to identify your goals and build on your existing strengths. My goal is to empower you with greater self-awareness, healthier coping skills, and the confidence to create positive, lasting changes in your life.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where you can openly discuss your concerns without fear of judgment. We'll spend time getting to know one another, exploring what brings you to therapy, and discussing your personal experiences, current challenges, strengths, and goals.

I'll take time to understand your unique needs, whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, stress, behavioral concerns, family dynamics, relationship difficulties, or life transitions. Together, we'll begin identifying patterns that may be affecting your emotional well-being and discuss therapeutic approaches that best fit your situation.

I believe building trust and a meaningful therapeutic relationship is an important first step toward healing. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, express your concerns, and share at a pace that feels comfortable. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and supported, with greater clarity about your goals and the next steps toward positive change.
