Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Neil Darren Schwartz, a licensed psychologist with a PsyD from Nova Southeastern University, an APA-accredited program. I completed advanced training within the VA system, where I specialized in trauma-focused care and evidence-based treatments for PTSD, depression, anxiety, and adjustment to life transitions. I work with adults of all backgrounds, with particular expertise in trauma recovery, mood disorders, ADHD, and neuropsychological assessment. I also have extensive experience supporting LGBTQ+ clients, honoring identity and relational concerns through an affirming and inclusive lens. Many clients come to me seeking both practical tools for symptom management and a deeper exploration of identity, relationships, and meaning.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should feel collaborative, supportive, and empowering. My style is warm, direct, and practical. I combine evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Schema Therapy with a compassionate, down-to-earth presence. Clients often describe me as someone who helps them feel understood while also challenging them to grow.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space where we balance practical skill-building with insight-oriented exploration. Together, we’ll identify how past experiences impact present struggles, build coping strategies, and strengthen your ability to move forward with clarity and resilience.
