Nelly Zambrano

As a Bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist in California, I specialize in supporting individuals navigating complex emotional landscapes. My journey deeply enriches my perspective: I immigrated to the USA more than 25 years ago and have since had the privilege of working with diverse communities across Ecuador, Guatemala, and the USA.

My early professional life focused on economic justice in Ecuador and microfinance with Indigenous women in Guatemala. For the last 15 years, I've served in the child welfare system as a Child Protective Social Worker, where I've had the honor of collaborating with clients to support better changes for children, families, and communities.

My approach is Strength-Based, Solution-Focused, and deeply Client-Centered. I believe you are the expert on your life. Drawing from evidence-based practices, I create a supportive environment where we focus on your existing strengths, collaboratively define actionable goals, and explore your experiences to heal from past wounds and cultivate personal growth.

Our first session will be an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We’ll discuss your background and what brings you to therapy. Therapy is a process, and we’ll continue to build our work together over time. It’s completely normal to feel nervous about your first appointment. We’ll take it one step at a time, and I’m here to guide you through each step of the process.
